Graduation Day 2025

On July 10th this year YR NGGS’s held its ‘Class of 2025’ graduation ceremony. Every summer, we say goodbye to a crop of students before they go on to Further Ed. or employment; this year our graduating class was the largest we’ve ever had.

All our graduates have overcome various challenges to reach this point in their lives, and faced these challenges with courage, creativity, and kindness. As staff, we take immense pride and satisfaction in watching our students fulfil their potential and exceed their expectations. This year, twenty of our students graduated, and in June, we submitted a record number of student folders for QQI authentication. This was a huge achievement and a fitting testimony to the hard work our graduates put into all their classes.

Our Class of 2025 graduates represent a rich diversity of cultures, backgrounds, hopes and ambitions; diversity is one of the great strengths of Youthreach NGGS. Throughout their time here, our students have worked and learned alongside each other and have made enduring friendships.

In one way, what we do here is quite simple; it’s a conveyor belt. This year’s graduates leave at one end, next year’s graduates are coming along behind them. After two years they complete their QQI Level 4 Certificate and go on to PLC’s, FET Colleges etc. But that’s only half the story. From the moment a student joins our centre we build a scaffold around them, we encourage them, we give them the tools to succeed and help them realise their potential. We find out what they’re good at, then we find out the things they never knew they were good at. We focus on their future, and it is a privilege to watch our graduates thrive and develop into the best version of themselves.

As they step into the future, we remind them that they can accomplish almost anything they put their minds to; their potential is limitless. We tell them to be courageous, to believe in themselves, and should they get knocked down, to get back up and try again.

We wish them the best of luck in all they do — and once a YRNGGS student, always a YRNGGS student.

Working in Youthreach requires dedication, commitment, motivation, positivity, and a sense of humour. In YRNGGS our amazing staff - Eddie, Lisa, Donal, John, Sophie, Linda, Conor, Anto, Catherine, Emma, Karen, Adrian, Marie, Sean and Una – have these qualities in abundance. My sincere thanks to them for all they do in our centre, this year and every year, week in, week out.

Finally, on behalf of all YRNGGS staff, I want to congratulate each of our graduates once more - Fatima, Kaltuun, Aisha, Farzam, Alisha, Naoise, Jasper, Abbie, Eva, Leila, Amber, Ikran, Isatu, Laki, Trippy, Amina, Nahida, Omid, Anna and Asma - we’re proud of you, we won’t forget you, and we’ll see you again sometime
