School Trip: Photo Museum Ireland

In celebration of our centre's brand new Photography course, our teachers organised an afternoon excursion to visit Dublin photographer Tony O'Shea's smashing exhibition "Into the Light" right on our doorstep in the Photo Museum Ireland, Temple Bar.

Following a short introductory talk by the gallery manager about O'Shea's life and work, the gang had some time to wander around the gallery space and explore the photographs which depicted life in Ireland during various decades of the twentieth century.

It was such a great opportunity for our students to learn about both photography as an art form, as well as encountering some fascinating visual histories of Ireland which took place right here in Dublin city centre, as well as further afield in different communities in Belfast and Kerry.

Short and sweet, it was overall a wonderful way to pass the afternoon. Looking forward to the next one!
